The Eurovision Song Contest has had an official generic logo since 2004. Nevertheless, the EBU also encourages the Host Broadcaster to develop theme artwork that is specific to the event for that year. NTU, Host Broadcaster of the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest has launched a tender process for the theme artwork for the contest which takes place in Kyiv next year. The creative concept for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest includes the theme, slogan and logo. The theme for the 2016 contest in Stockholm was Come Together.

The development of the theme artwork for the Eurovision Song Contest is a complex process with multiple stakeholders. The All-Ukrainian Advertising Coalition, the biggest NGO in the advertising industry in Ukraine, provided NTU with a list of prospective agencies which have been invited to submit bids. Individuals with ideas for prospective themes should contact the specific agencies that have joined the pitch. So far the list includes:

  • Havas Worldwide Ukraine
  • BBDO Ukraine
  • Republique
  • J&I
  • TWIGA Idea
  • ARRIBA
  • ADVENTA Lowe
  • THINKMcCANN
  • Green Penguin Media

Draft concepts must be submitted for consideration in early November. The winning creative agency will be decided by the Eurovision Song Contest Reference Group, the governing body of the contest, along with NTU.

Awakening was chosen as the theme for the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest which was held in Kyiv. Ukraine's capital won the right to host the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest fighting off strong competition from Odesa and Dnipro earlier this year.
