Zlata and Farid spent the day getting to know eachother in Kyiv, and they managed to fit quite a lot in! Farid is in the midst of a European tour, trying to drum up support for his song Hold Me which he will perform in Malmö at the Eurovision Song Contest in just a couple of weeks time!

When talking about this meeting Farid said, “we’ve been riding Segway’s in Mariinsky park, laughing and talking like we’ve known each other for ages!” says Farid. “With such tight schedules before the Semi Finals, this meeting was a true retreat. Zlata is an amazing girl, solid and talented artist. And her song Gravity sounds like a fairytale.”
Zlata added, "this year Azerbaijan is represented by a genuine fire! Farid is a very passionate person, a singer with a burning heart. Hold Me is a touching ballad that fits to your ear from the first moment. I hope Farid will fully expose his sensitive soul and unbelievable vocal talent to the Eurovision audience!”

In the first stage of the competition, the Semi-Finals, Ukraine and Azerbaijan will not be competing against each other. Zlata Ognevich will perform her song Gravity in the first show on the 14th of May and Farid Mammadov will fly Azerbaijan's flag in the second show on the 16th of May with Hold Me.
