Unfortunately some of them will be disqualified because they do not comply with the national contest rules, the Latvian broadcaster LTV told Eurovision.tv.
"As usual, greatest activity was on the last days and even hours, this time the last song was delivered to LTV exactly at the midnight of the 30th of November," told the head of the Latvian Eurovision Song Contest delegation Iveta Lepesko. Only a week ago LTV had 8 songs submitted, so they were rather worried but now the considerable increase in that number led them to believe the quality of the entries will be good this year. Although LTV doesn't reveal the songs, authors and potential singers at the moment, they do say that among competitors are some well-known musicians.
The jury will start evaluating the songs and on the 9th of December the names of the semi-finalists will be revealed.
