Wednesday Weekly (28/02/18): The final countdown

The past week has seen yet another flurry of national selections for the Eurovision Song Contest. The coming weekend will see another six countries select their respective entries for the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest. Which national final will you watch?

National finals took place in seven countries last weekend as well as selection heats in Sweden, Portugal and of course, Lithuania! The selection in Lithuania is the longest of the Eurovision season and has been going on since the first weekend of January. 

What's coming up?

The penultimate heat of the national selection for 2018 will take place in Lithuania and in Sweden the second chance round of Melodifestivalen, called Andra Chansen, will be held. After these two shows, the line up for the national finals will be known.

Friday sees the announcement of the Dutch song for Eurovision 2018, which will be performed by Waylon, who represented The Netherlands back in 2014.

After this weekend there is only one more week for each participating country to announce its entry for the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest. The Heads of Delegation will meet in Lisbon on 12th March and then the final line up for the forthcoming competition will be complete!
