Amaury Vassili was internally chosen to be France's entry this year. His song Sognu is fully sung in Corsican, a regional language in France. The young singer has already achieved remarkable success in France where his albums Vincero and Cantero sold more than 250000 copies altogether.
Daniel Moyne and Quentin Bachelet (son of the famous French singer, Pierre Bachelet) composed the song and Jean-Pierre Marcellesi, famous Corsican singer, wrote the lyrics fully in the Corsican language together with Julie Miller.
For the third time since its very first participation in 1956, France will be represented by a song fully in a regional language.
