Day two of Eurovision Song Contest rehearsals has started! Belgium was the first delegation on stage this morning at Expo Tel Aviv as Eliot displayed 'Wake Up' on the big stage. Opening his performance with a bright red backdrop, Eliot is dressed in black trousers, a black jacket with red straps and a red and yellow harness underneath. Eliot is accompanied on stage by 2 dancers with futuristic images on the LED screens.

Eliot will take to the stage 10th in the first Semi-Final on Tuesday 14 May at Expo Tel Aviv in Israel.

Eliot Vassamillet is from Mons in Belgium and is just 18 years of age and still completing his secondary school education at the Collège Saint-Stanislas in Mons. He was spotted by Pierre Dumoulin, the creative force behind Blanche's fourth place finish at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest. The 2 joined forces and Wake Up is the result of their collaboration.

What happens on stage?

Eliot is accompanied on stage by 2 backing dancers who double up as drummers with head-height mounted drums. The 3 minute performance starts with a blood red background and good use of lighting rigs before isometric shapes begin to appear on the screen. As the drummers begin to beat, the screen show ripple images in time. The drummers are also dressed in black with red prints on the front showing hands making the 'peace' sign.

The choreography is kept simple, using close-up camera shots and arm gestures to emphasise the meaning of the song. The staging interacts well with the stage shape and triangular shapes, with use of red and purple against a darkened backdrop.
