Volunteers to launch new Eurovision.tv today!
12 January 2009 at 16:50 CETSome of the volunteers working for the Eurovision Family of Events arrived to Geneva already yesterday, those who could not come will join a second meeting later this year. Today the team got a glimpse of the daily routine of the biggest broadcaster's union in the world - the EBU and had a discussion about the future of New Media activities.
"Since 2007, we have been working closely with a team of some 10 volunteers to maintain the official websites of the Eurovision Song Contest, Junior Eurovision Song Contest and Eurovision Dance Contest. They are extremely motivated, work closely with us at a professional level and they sometimes know more about the events than we know ourselves. It's a pleasure to work with them," says Sietse Bakker, Manager Communications & PR of the three events." The team includes editors, video reporters and photographers from across Europe, and works closely with the internal EBU team on the Eurovision Family of Events.
