Contactless payments are on the rise in Europe. Leading up to Eurovision Song Contest, Visa has taken the technology NFC (Near Field Communication) one step further by launching a limited edition contactless payment wristband in Sweden. Starting at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest, visitors can use the Visa contactless wristband to shop at all merchants accepting contactless payments, world-wide, until 31st October 2016.

The wristband is produced in an exclusive limited edition and will be available for consumers in the Eurovision Village, Kungsträdgården Stockholm, the week leading up to the Eurovision Song Contest Grand Finale. The contactless wristband is a prepaid wearable, meaning that consumers can load their wristband with an amount of their choice from their debit or credit card, before use. In addition to the built-in NFC payment technology, the wristband also includes VIP-treatments, such as offers on food and drinks and Fast Tracks at the Eurovision areas.

In addition to receiving the contactless wristband, in Visa’s tent in the Eurovision Village you can participate in competitions to win tickets to Eurovision Song Contest and other nice prizes. Photograph yourself as the winner in Visa’s photo booth, and learn all about contactless payments, also with mobile, on site.
