Vienna officially becomes Host City

For the eighth year in a row the day started with the Host City Insignia ceremony. It is the ceremony where the representatives of the previous host city, Copenhagen, hand over the symbolic Host City keys to the mayor of the city that will do that in 2015, Vienna.
Representing Copenhagen, Sophie Hæstorp Andersen, Chairman of the Regional Council from the Capital Region, and Lars Weiss, Chairman of the Social Democratic Group, presented the Host City Insignia to Lord Mayor of Vienna, Michael Häupl.
Starting from this moment, it's officially Vienna's turn to take over the hosting responsibilities.

During the ceremony, there were also short speeches from the Executive Supervisor of the EBU, Jon Ola Sand, and the Austrian broadcaster -ORF- General Director, Alexander Wrabetz.
After this ceremony there will be a lunch break and right after it, around 13:25CET, the allocation draw will take place. ORF hosts Kati Bellowitsch and Andi Knoll will be guiding us through the procedure, which you can watch in our WebTV Player.
