20 January 2011 at 16:19 CET

As announced earlier, the Cypriot broadcaster, CyBC, decided to take a different route this year with their national selection for the Eurovision  Song Contest.

They decided first on the singer in the show Performance which was won by Christos Mylordos with more than 11,000 votes earlier in 2010.

Now, composers were asked to send in songs for the singer. Several reached the CyBC headquarters and it has been decided that a specially formed jury will choose the entry later in January with the song being presented in late February.

UPDATE:  Today, Cypriot broadcaster CyBC has chosen the song with which Christos Mylordos will represent the country in Düsseldorf! It is called San Aggelos S’agapisa). The song has been composed by Andreas Anastasiou and the lyrics come from Michalis Antoniou.
