Turkey polls for prospective entrant
26 September 2011 at 15:26 CESTTurkey has a long history of internally selecting its Eurovision Song Contest entry. Since 2003 all entries except for Gülseren in 2005 have been chosen in this manner. This format has been successful in wielding some good results, including when Sertab Erener won the competition in 2003 with Everyway That I Can.
However, earlier this year in Düsseldorf, Turkey failed to qualify to the final when Yüksek Sadakat came 13th in the first semi-final with the song Live It Up.
In order to kickstart the search for 2012, broadcaster TRT is inviting members of the public to email their artist suggestions in order gauge who the public want to see represent them in Baku in May. If you have any suggestions, send an email to [email protected].
The 2012 edition of Europe's Favourite TV Show is set to take place on the 22nd, 24th and 26th of May in Baku, Azerbaijan.
In the meantime, why not reacquaint yourself with this Yüksek Sadakat and check out his live performance in Düsseldorf:
