The Turkish singer for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest, Hadise, was internally chosen as Turkey's entry for Moscow by the broadcaster TRT last fall. Hadise presented her song Düm Tek Tek during TRT's New Year's show for the first time which was met by approval by both Turkish media and fans.

She had previously told the media she would never participate when her best friend Kate Ryan didn't qualify in 2006 for the Final of Europe's favourite TV-show with her song Je T'Adore. However, she changed her mind, luckily! You can see her song below.

Hadise was born in 1985, in Belgium as a daughter of a Turkish couple. Took her first steps in music with the talent contest Pop Idol in 2003. Being discovered here, her first professional work, the single Sweat was a chart success and gained interest from the Belgian audience. Six months later her second single Stir Me Up was released. This was the song that earned recognition for Hadise in Turkey, where her roots are. Hadise’s strong vocals and high dynamics of the song was acknowledged all through Europe.

She will perform ninth in the first Semi-Final of the Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow, on the 12th of May. You can read more about her here.
