Tonight: Moldova decides!

Out of the 93 songs that had been entered for the Moldovan national selection, a jury picked 25 lucky contenders who will get the chance to perform their songs live to a broad audience tonight in the national final. Katrina's entry Solo Por Tu Amor was disqualified for being released prior to September 1st, 2010, thus breaking the rules of the Eurovision Song Contest. She was replaced by the runner-up, Dumitru Socican.

The show will feature some well-known faces in the world of Eurovision: Natalia Barbu represented Moldova in the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest, reaching the 10th place with Fight. Zdob şi Zdub performed the Moldovan debut entry in the Eurovision Song Contest, Boonika Bate Doba, in 2005, coming 6th. Karizma, the artist formerly known as Alexa, is one of the most successful participants in the recent Moldovan national finals, having reached the 3rd place in 2008 with We Are One, and the 2nd place in 2009 with A Flight To The Light.

The Moldovan national final will be broadcast live tonight on the channels Moldova 1 and TVM International, which can be received via satellite on Eutelsat W2 (16°E). The show is set to start at 18:40 CET. Meanwhile, you can listen to all the songs in the national selection on the official website of TRM.

Moldova was drawn to take part in the first half of the Second Semi-Final of the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest, to be held in Düsseldorf on May 12th.
