Tonight: Final of UMK Finland
25 February 2012 at 08:30 CETStill in the summer of 2011 Finland announced that a new system was taking shape to choose their entry for the Eurovision Song Contest, and the Contest For New Music (Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu - UMK) was born.
Since then we've been following how this number of "new musics" was narrowed from 540 to the final six. Yesterday saw the final eviction of UMK. One act had to leave the competition only one day before the final, and the unlucky ones were Freeman & Uusi Fantasia performing Noitanainen.
Remaining in the final was a very relieved Kaisa Vala and her Habits Of Human Beings. That made the final line-up look like this (click to watch a video performance):
- Stig - Laululeija (Song Kite) by Matti Mikkola, DJPP & Paula Vesala
- Ville Eetvartti - Lasikaupunki (Glass City) by Jyri Sariolasan, Tero Myllyvirta & Joni Pekkarinen
- Pernilla Karlsson - När Jag Blundar (When I Close My Eyes) by Jonas Karlsson
- Iconcrash - We Are The Night by Jaani Peuhu & Rory Winston
- Mica Ikonen - Antaa Mennä (Let It Go) by Lauri Hämäläinen &, Mica Ikonen
- Kaisa Vala - Habits Of Human Beings by Kaisa Vala
