Tonight: Belarus decides for Belgrade!

21 January 2008 at 01:19 CET

Belarus might well be the only country where the national final for the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest is being held on a Monday. EuroFest 2008 will feature four entries, which were picked exactly one month ago in a semi-final, out of a total of 15 songs. While the outcome of the semi-final was decided taking into account both the opinion of an expert jury and the results of a nation-wide televote, the winner of the final will be picked exclusively by an expert jury.

These are the artists fighting for the ticket to Belgrade and the titles of their songs:

  • Gunesh - I Can't Live Without You
  • Ruslan Alekhno - Hasta La Vista
  • Litesound - Do You Believe
  • Po Glazam - Devochka Tryokhtysyachnykh Let

Apart from the finalists' songs, the TV audience will also be treated with performances of several former participants of the Eurovision Song Contest: Sertab Erener, who was the Turkish winner of the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest, Ruslana, who won the contest for Ukraine in 2004, Lordi, Finland's first Eurovision Song Contest winners in 2006, and Natalia Podolskaya, who represented Russia in 2005, will perform. The winner of the 2007 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, Alexei Zhigalkovich, will also be invited on stage.

You can follow the show through the  webcast of BRTC. The show starts at 20:45 CET and will be hosted by Denis Kurian and Vera Poliakova.
