'Eesti Laul' winner Tommy Cash will represent Estonia at Eurovision
15 February 2025 at 21:46 CETIt was a pretty unanimous decision in Estonia as the country's Eurovision pre-selection Eesti Laul drew to its conclusion on the evening of Saturday 15 February.
Tommy Cash's Espresso Macchiato won the final round of voting with a landslide 83% of the vote. The song will now represent the Baltic nation at the 69th Eurovision Song Contest in May.
The winner of Eesti Laul was determined after two rounds of voting.
In the first round of scores, both a jury and a public vote gave points to the initial starting lineup of 16 competitors. After this, a Top 3 'superfinal' was announced and voting was opened again.
Espresso Macchiato won both the jury vote and the public vote and was joined in the superfinal by Külm (performed by An-Marlen) and Ma ei tea sind (by Andrei Zevakin feat. Karita).
In the superfinal it was solely the Estonian viewers watching at home that had the responsibility of choosing their winner and the song that will represent them at Basel 2025. Espresso Macchiato won with 83% of the vote. Ma ei tea sind finished in second place on 10%, while Külm picked up the bronze via 7% of the vote.

Estonia at the Eurovision Song Contest
Estonia made their debut in 1994, having waited an extra year because they weren’t one of the successful countries in the 1993 pre-Contest qualification round 'Kvalifikacija za Millstreet' (‘Qualification for Millstreet’).
Silvi Vrait was the first Estonian singer to represent her country, though the song Nagu Merelaine (‘Like A Seawave’) failed to make a splash with juries, finishing 24th in a field of 25.
In 2001, Estonia became the first former Eastern Bloc country to win the Eurovision Song Contest thanks to Tanel Padar, Dave Benton, 2XL and their party anthem Everybody.
Aruban-born Dave Benton also made history as the first Black participant to win the Contest.
