Time for the Maltese Warrior

13 May 2015 at 17:13 CEST
The sun has started to come out again in Vienna, and rather appropriately in time for the Maltese rehearsal. It has been six months since Amber was selected to represent the island nation, but she is familiar with the entire rehearsal routine as she was a backing vocalist for Kurt Calleja when the contest was held in Baku in 2012.

Majestic in black

As Amber made her way down the maze of corridors, looking very majestic, she had to assisted by one of the delegation with the long black see through train of her dress. Her long dress is short and open at the front, with a large black ribbon tied around her waist, with see through sleeves patterned by black lace, and the whole outfit sparkles in the stage lights. High-heel black shoes complete the costume.

Amber takes the centre point alone on the huge stage at the Wiener Stadthalle. and remains relatively static, with just some accentuating arm movements at various appropriate points in the song Warrior.

The background LED screens start with blue flame-like effects exploding outwards from a sphere, and later transform into orange and red flames. The lighting also changes to match the background colours, with flashes of white light in between. There are also some pyro flames shooting upwards in the latter half of the song, to compliment and emphasise the background flame effects.

While she was in the dressing room, Amber took a few minutes out of her busy schedule to talk about the last six months, and her preparations with the song Warrior, and how her experience in Baku has helped her.
