Ticket to Tel Aviv: Meet Oto Nemsadze from Georgia

With the song ‘Keep on Going', Oto Nemsadze will represent Georgia this year. Oto will perform 11th in the first Semi-Final on Tuesday 14 May in Tel Aviv, Israel. This is 'Ticket to Tel Aviv', our feature counting down to the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest.

In the final of Georgian Idol on 3 March, Oto won 44.13% of the 234,383 votes cast by the audience making him and his song Keep on Going the clear winner.

Who is Oto Nemsadze?

Oto Nemsadze was born on 18 June 1989 in Gori, a city located in the eastern part of Georgia. At the age of 3, his mother Maia started to teach him how to sing.

Oto is best known for winning the fifth season of Geostar in 2010, he received the most points from the Georgian audience to be crowned the winner.

This year, Georgia picked its representative via the Idol tv format. Ten singers were able to qualify for the final, and battled for weeks to represent Georgia at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest in Israel in May.

Last year, Georgia finished 18th in the second Semi-Final. Ethno-Jazz Band Iriao received 24 points for their song For You.
