Carousel will represent Latvia at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest with ‘That Night’. They will perform 5th in the second Semi-Final on Thursday 16 May in Tel Aviv, Israel. This is 'Ticket to Tel Aviv', our feature counting down to the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest.

Carousel won their ticket to Tel Aviv through Latvia's national selection show ‘Supernova’ on Saturday 16 February. Carousel's victory was delivered by a combination of televoters, a jury panel and the number of Spotify streams each song in the final had achieved.

Who is Carousel?

Carousel is an indie pop band led by Sabine Žuga and Maris Vasilievsky. The band was created in 2015 and is set to release a new album later this year. The duo also wrote their Eurovision song That Night themselves.

The duo has now become a quartet with both Stanislav Judins (on double bass) and Mareks Logins (on drums) joining the band to bring a distinctive vibe and sound. They have since been seen at Eurovision pre-parties performing That Night in full and a cappella.
