After being the last country to decide on the entry for the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest, Ukraine is now among the first ones to select the entry for the upcoming contest. After the initial castings, held in summer, three preselection rounds have already taken place. Last Sunday it was time for the fourth one. Seven candidates presented their potential entries, and a jury then picked three of them to proceed to the semi-final of the Ukrainian national selection. This is the full list of performers in Sunday's show, with the qualifiers set in bold:
The jury unanimously decided on the first two qualifiers, but in the end there was a tie for the third place. Thus, the head of the jury, Walid Arfush, had to decide if either Vladyslav Levytskyi or Mika Newton should go to the semi-final, and he voted in favour of the latter. The four candidates that did not qualify will get another chance to make it to the final by the decision of the TV public - the results of the televoting are expected to be published after the last preselection round, to be held on November 28th.
