When the Italian broadcaster, RAI, announced they were returning to the Eurovision Song Contest, their entry was highly anticipated with interest and enthusiasm. The Italians were ready with a great talent in music, Raphael Gualazzi, who had just won Sanremo's newcomers Festival.
Raphael and his Madness Of Love conquered the expert juries made up of music industry professionals all around the continent, giving him a runaway victory in their voting, which, when combined with the televoters decisions, made Italy the runner-up.
Fresh from the competition results, Gualazzi started a huge promotion for his album Reality And Fantasy which topped the jazz charts of many European countries, and that has taken him to an extensive tour across Italy this summer.
As his team confirmed to us "since his Eurovision participation, Raphael's agenda went literally crazy"; international dates keep on being added to his tour, and from mid September he will also visit France, Austria, Switzerland and Germany. You can check the dates on his official website as well as on his facebook page.
Both the song Madness Of Love and the album Reality And Fantasy have been digitally released and are available for download worldwide. Universal Music Group released it phisically in some territories like France, Germany, Switzerland, Australia and The Netherlands.
The full-English version of the Eurovision entry is featured in the closing titles of the film Manuale d'amore 3, starring Robert De Niro and Monica Bellucci and currently in cinemas around Europe.
If this wasn't enough the title track of Reality And Fantasy was chosen by Fiat as the soundtrack for the brand’s commercials in Europe.
As you can see not only RAI has welcome Eurovision back with success but Raphael is truly living a most succesful summer. In this previously unreleased video you can see Raphael's thoughts in the Düsseldorf week:
