The Humans have won the Romanian national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, 'Selecția Națională', and will represent the country in Lisbon with the song 'Goodbye'.
The Romanian national selection for Eurovision 2018, featured 60 entries in total and five semi-finals, held in different cities across Romania. The final took place in the capital Bucharest and was presented by Cezar Ouatu and Diana Dumitrescu. Cezar represented Romania in the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest.
After the votes had been counted and verified, the results were announced in reverse order. The Humans received the most televotes and will represent Romania in the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon!
Lead singer Cristina Caramarcu was overcome with emotion when she took to the stage to reprise the winning song Goodbye. Check out their performance of the song during the semi-final below and you can also watch the official video here.
About the show
Each week, during the five semi-finals, the professional jury selected three acts for the final with the winner being chosen solely through televoting, which was open for an hour during the live show. DoReDoS, Moldova's representatives at Eurovision 2018 performed during the show, fresh from their victory in the national selection the day before. The finalists (in order of appearance)

About The Humans
The Humans is made up of five members, each with their own mix of musical backgrounds. The band consists of Adi Tetrade, Alin Neagoe, Alex Matei, Alex Cismaru and Cristina Caramarcu who is the lead vocalist.
The Comeback Kid
The Romanian national selection for Eurovision 2018 saw a familiar name return to the stage. MIHAI (Mihai Trăistariu) participated in the national final numerous times, including finishing second in 2017 with the song I Won't Surrender. He represented Romania in the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest with the song Tornero which finished fourth in Athens.

Romania made its Eurovision Song Contest debut in 1994 and whilst the country is yet to score a first victory, Romania has finished in the top five on three ocassions. In 2005 and 2010 Romania finished third in the Grand Final, which remains the best placing for the country to date. In 2017 Romania scored its first top ten placing in the Eurovision Song Contest since 2010.
