Televoting to decide Belarus entry for Stockholm

Belarusian broadcaster BTRC decided on a new voting system for their national final. Only TV viewers will decide who they want to represent their country in Stockholm. A jury will only be involved in the pre-selection round. Starting from the 23rd of October, musicians can send in their applications to BTRC. Stay tuned for more rules to be announced on that day.

Earlier in September, the chairman of BTRC Gennady Davydko announced that the broadcaster does not exclude a possibility to send an entry in the Belarusian language to the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest. Teo and Uzari, the former representatives positively welcomed and supported this idea, but also songs in other languages will be accepted in the selection process.

Yesterday, BTRC announced that the singer for Stockholm will be chosen only by TV viewers (sms and telephone calls) during the national final. Finalists however will be selected by a professional jury. The application round will be open from the 23rd of October. Follow eurovision.tv and the BTRC site for more news.
