Tele2 launches The Sound of Europe project

25 April 2016 at 17:30 CEST
Tele2, the Official Mobile Operator of the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest has launched an initiative, The Sound of Europe, which is the world's first crowdsourced singing voice, calling for openness and love for all.

Music knows no boundaries and this is true of the Eurovision Song Contest, founded in 1956 with the ambition to strengthen the bonds across borders. It is with this in mind that Tele2 has launched the campaign, The Sound of Europe, which is entirely in-keeping with the theme for 2016, Come Together.

Tele2 has commissioned a song, One, specially produced by Sweden's Pontus Winnberg, who has worked with artists such as Madonna and Britney Spears. By downloading the The Sound of Europe app, anyone can sing their contribution, up to and including 14th May when the Grand Final of the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest will take place.

Contributions will be collected on the website of The Sound of Europe allowing users to follow in realtime as more and more people gather with their singing voices. At the Eurovision Song Contest, all voices will be gathered in one crowdsourced singing voice, singing the song, One. All revenues of the common version will go to all those in need through the organisation Radiohjälpen. Download the app on iTunes and Google Play.

The 2016 Eurovision Song Contest will be held on 10th, 12th and 14th May at the Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.
