Cyprus has picked Tamta as its representative for the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest. She will perform the song 'Replay', produced by Alex P. The staging will be done by acclaimed artistic director and choreographer Sacha Jean-Baptiste. Tamta's song will be released at a later date.
Tamta was born and raised in Georgia. She moved to Greece at the age of 21 and took part in the TV show Super Idol, winning the second place. She is currently one of the most successful and influential artists in the Greek pop music industry, and also considered as one of the best vocalists and performers in Greece. She has released four studio albums, twelve digital singles and 26 music videos. She has won a lot of awards and numerous award nominations. Most of her singles topped in the radio charts throughout the years.
In parallel to her music career, she has starred in acclaimed musicals such as Rent (as Mimi) and Cabaret (as Sally Bowls), where she was chosen for the leading role of the musical and received the best reviews from theater critics and the audience alike. Between 2014 and 2018, she became one of the judges on the talent show X-Factor, both in Georgia and in Greece, an experience that accelerated her popularity and fame to the highest of levels in the said two countries and Cyprus.
Tamta has performed at numerous festivals, clubs and music events all around the world from Georgia to Australia. Additionally, she has cooperated with outstanding artists and producers from all around the world (names like Alex P., Yacoub Rami, Dimitris Kontopoulos, Gravitonas, Mikolas Josef, Mihai Traistariu, Helena Paparizou and Sakis Rouvas) and has a big fan base in Greece, Cyprus, Georgia and abroad.
