Talents from 14 nations to gather at Junior Eurovision 2010

Posted 28 July 2010 at 14:01

Apart from host broadcaster BTRC from Belarus, broadcasters from Armenia (AMPTV), Belgium (VRT), FYR Macedonia (MKRTV), Georgia (GEGT), Latvia (LTV), Lithuania (LRT), Malta (PBS), Moldova (TRM), the Netherlands (AVRO), Russia (RTR), Serbia (RTS), Sweden (SVT) and Ukraine (NTU) signed up to send in their best young singing talents. Compared to last year, one more country is being represented. "Our colleagues from Belarus are preparing an amazing television show for millions of families across Europe. Apart from showcasing the best young talents from all over the continent in a magnificent show, we are also looking forward to an unforgettable week of fun and friendship for the contestants," says Svante Stockselius, Executive Supervisor for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of the EBU. Last year, 13 nations were represented at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv, Ukraine, which was won by Ralf Mackenbach from the Netherlands with his song Click Clack. Unlike the Eurovision Song Contest, where the winning country hosts the next event, the Junior Eurovision Song Contest is being awarded through a bid procedure. Belarusian broadcaster BTRC was awarded the competition in the summer of 2009. For more information, visit www.junioreurovision.tv. A revamped website revealing more of the Minsk 2010 graphic design is expected to be launched in the weeks to come.
