The four Swiss public broadcasters SRF, RTR, RTS, and RSI have agreed to proceed with the national selection for the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest in the same way as in previous years. Again, the German- and Rumantsch-language broadcasters SRF and RTR have decided to join forces and conduct an open selection, using a web platform.
The platform will be open from September 29 till October 27, and all artists interested in representing the country in Austria next year can upload their video clips. When the deadline has passed, the public will be asked to cast their votes online, and jointly with an expert jury (50/50 division), they will pick 9 acts to proceed to the next stage of the selection.
There, they will be joined by 6 artists chosen by the French-language broadcaster RTS and 3 nominated by the Italian broadcaster RSI. All 18 acts will have to prove their singing capabilities and stage experience in a so-called "expert round", and in the end, 6 of them will qualify for the final, to be held on January 31 in the Bodensee Arena in Kreuzlingen.
In 2014, Switzerland was represented by Sebalter, who reached a marvellous 13th place in the Grand Final with Hunter of Stars. His follow-up single Saturday has been released just recently, and it's already available on iTunes. Don't miss the chance to listen to it!
