After conducting an internal selection to find an entry for the Eurovision Song Contest for five years in a row, the Swiss public broadcasters decided to organise a big national final again this year. It all started with a web-based selection where singers and songwriters from all over the world could upload their videoclips. More than 300 songs were received, and in the end a combined vote of the website visitors and a professional jury picked the following seven finalists out of the submissions:

  1. Andrina - Drop Of Drizzle
  2. Anna Rossinelli - In Love For A While
  3. Bernarda Brunovic - Confidence
  4. CH - Gib Nid Uf
  5. Polly Duster - Up To You
  6. Sarah Burgess - Just Me
  7. The Glue - Come What May

Five more songs were selected by the public radio channels DRS, RSI and RTS. The German-language broadcaster DRS picked the following three finalists, also through a web-based selection including both the votes of an expert jury and the radio listeners:

  1. Dominique Borriello - Il Ritmo Dentro Di Noi
  2. Duke - Waiting For Ya
  3. The Colors and Ilira - Home

One more song was picked by the Italian language radio channel RSI - Rete Uno. During a special show broadcast on radio, five potential entries were presented to the public. Initially, the song Surrender by Orpheline was chosen to go to the final, but she withdrew for personal reasons. She was replaced by the runner-up, Vittoria Hyde, who will sing Play The Trumpet on December 11th in Kreuzlingen. Everyone is still waiting for the announcement of the 12th and last finalist, who will be nominated by the French-language radio broadcaster RTS. Stay with us to know the results of their internal selection!

Altogether the Swiss national final features a colourful mix of musical styles and languages - apart from several songs in English, there is also one song in Italian, one in Swiss German, and another one in both Swiss German and Albanian! Listen to all the Swiss finalists here.
