570 songs were sent in to Webbjokern 2012, compared with 424 last year. The producer of Melodifestivalen, Christer Björkman has together with a group of SVT employees listened to all the songs and chosen the 32 competing entries.
"It's cool that the Webbjoker competition is growing, and it's impressive that we have found 32 songs that keep to this level. All sorts of music can be founrd here, all genres are represented. Our dream would of course be to find someone that will get their big breakthrough by winning the Webbjoker competition", said Christer Björkman.
The Webbjoker has significantly changed this year and is a mini version of Melodifestivalen with four semi-finals and a final, and one winner instead of two. Compared to last year you can only vote once per telephone number and week. In each semi-final one finalist is voted through on svt.se and SVT will choose a further finalist.

In the final, 8 songs will compete and the winner will be chosen by sms voting.
