Krista Siegfrids, Tommy Nilsson, Martin Stenmarck and Molly Sandén are some of the acts taking part in Melodifestivalen 2016 Facebook/EBU
Melodifestivalen is one of the favourite national selections for the Eurovision Song Contest and back in May it produced the latest Eurovision Song Contest winner, Måns Zelmerlöw's Heroes. Today the 28 contestants who will compete to represent Sweden on home soil have been introduced in a press conference.

Interest in the Eurovision Song Contest is always through the roof in Sweden and next year will be no exception when they host the competition in Stockholm. The acts competing in their popular national selection have been presented today by Swedish broadcaster, SVT.

"It's great that there is such a diverse bunch of authors behind next year's songs. Among the artists, we have dear comebacks but also many newcomers with strong songs and possible breakthroughs. And there are really strong final candidates in all four semi-finals", says Christer Björkman, executive producer of Melodifestivalen 2016.
