The four semi-finals of the Swedish national selection for the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest are now over. There are eight songs in the final waiting for two more songs to join them. Those two songs come from the ones that placed 3rd and 4th in the semis (click on the title to watch a video of them):

When the duels competition was installed five years ago it gave a new dimension to "Andra Chansen", the second chance round of Melodifestivalen, making it one of the highlights of the tour.
This year there was a draw for the first time and those were the duels (winners in bold):
  • Duel 1: Dynazty vs. Top Cats
  • Duel 2: Andreas Johnson vs. Timoteij
  • Duel 3: Thorsten Flinck och Revolutionsorkestern vs. Lotta Engberg och Christer Sjögren
  • Duel 4: Sean Banan vs. Youngblood
You can watch the draw through SVT's Melodifestival site.
In order to have only two songs proceeding to the final, the competition then went on with the winners of each of the four duels (finalists in bold):
  • Semifinal 1: Topcats vs. Timoteij
  • Semifinal 2: Thorsten Flinck och Revolutionsorkestern vs. Sean Banan
In total a massive 1,115,229 votes were registered, marking another milestone in this fantastically popular 2012 Melodifestivalen.
Right after the show, the draw for the order of appearance in the final was announced:
  1. Shout It Out - David Lindgren
  2. Jag Reser Mig Igen - Thorsten Flinck & Revolutionsorkestern
  3. Mystery - Dead by April
  4. Why Start A Fire - Lisa Miskovsky
  5. Baby Doll - Top Cats
  6. Euphoria - Loreen
  7. Soldiers - Ulrik Munther
  8. Mirakel – Björn Ranelid feat. Sara Li
  9. Why Am I Crying - Molly Sandén
  10. Amazing – Danny Saucedo
