Sweden 2025: Your guide to the 'Melodifestivalen' final
06 March 2025 at 19:30 CETHow To Watch
The 'Melodifestivalen' final is happening on Saturday 8 March, with a start time of 20:00 CET. Wherever you are in the world, you'll be able to stream live via the Swedish broadcaster's online player SVTPlay. And if you're in Sweden, it'll be airing on SVT1.

About Melodifestivalen
After 5 weeks of semi-finals have lit-up the dark Saturday evenings of February and March in Sweden, it's time for Melodifestivalen viewers to get down to the serious business of choosing a winner - the song that will represent the Nordic nation at the 69th Eurovision Song Contest.
The 30 songs that we started out with are now down to 12 finalists, and Swedish broadcaster SVT has set aside two hours of primetime television on Saturday night for us to sit down and enjoy (and wave balloons too, if you really want to get into the #Melfest spirit of things).

Somehow not completely wiped out after 5 weeks of taking the Swedish national final all across the country, the delightful hosts Keyyo and Edvin Törnblom will be back for the final. And this week, the live show will be coming to us from the Swedish capital of Stockholm, and the newly-named Strawberry Arena.
As well as our 12 competing entries, there'll also be some surprise guest performances lined up, too. And SVT has already revealed that Melodifestivalen 2024 runners-up Medina will be back to perform as an interval act. The duo will be presenting a brand-new version of Genom Eld Och Vatten; the Melodifestivalen 2003 hit by Sarek, which is being inducted into the Melodifestivalen Hall of Fame on Saturday night.
The Participants
Here's your intro to all 12 of the finalists, plus your chance to get familiar with each of the songs ahead of Saturday night.
The winner will be decided by both a public vote and an international jury vote, with a 50% weighting given to each.
John Lundvik – Voice of the Silent

He won Melodifestivalen 2019, and in the process ended up launching the career of the group that went on to win Melodifestivalen 2020! He's already given his native Sweden a Top 5 finish at the Eurovision Song Contest, now he's amplifying the Voice of the Silent.
Dolly Style – YIHAA

These jolly dollies debuted at Melodifestivalen 10 years ago, with the aptly titled Hello Hi! Since then, they've entered the competition three more times - but YIHAA is the first time they've managed to giddy-up all the way to the final. Saturday night's lineup is going to be a lot more colourful because of them.
Greczula – Believe Me

Believe Me is the first appearance of Greczula at Melodifestivalen, but he certainly made a strong impact upon landing. Swedish viewers voted the song as the winner of the third semi-final back in February, and the theatrical rock song is set to be one of the big roof-raisers in Strawberry Arena on Saturday.
Klara Hammarström – On and On and On

She's participated at Melodifestivalen three times before; improving upon her previous result on each occasion. Her prior attempt, Run To The Hills in 2022, landed her in 6th place. Is there room in the Top 5 for her on Saturday, to ensure that her trend of climbing up the results table goes On and On and On?...
SCARLET – Sweet N’ Psycho

This duo debuted at the Swedish pre-selection in 2024, with the eerie yet entertaining Circus X. They made such a great impression on the competition that they've been invited back for a second year. Now, which one's Sweet and which one's Psycho?...
Erik Segerstedt – Show Me What Love Is

Those following Melodifestivalen long enough might well recall a fresh-faced Erik Segerstedt as part of the trio EMD, who finished in third place with Baby Goodbye in 2009. His first solo outing in the contest has gone rather well; Show Me What Love Is is what he asked, and the Swedish voters answered loud and clear - the song won the second semi-final in early February.
Maja Ivarsson – Kamikaze Life

A Melodifestivalen newcomer, but certainly no 'ingénue' in the music world, with her band The Sounds having debuted in 1998. With all that pop-rock pedigree, Maja is bringing one of the more bombastic numbers to Saturday night's final.
Meira Omar – Hush Hush

Competing in the first semi-final over 5 weeks ago, Hush Hush has become one of the big break-out hits of Melodifestivalen 2025, despite only making it to the final via last Saturday night's second-chance round. Meira's already landed a Spotify number 1 with this song; that's a lot of people with "boom boom, chiki chiki chiki" going round in their heads.
Måns Zelmerlöw – Revolution

He gave Sweden its 6th Eurovision Song Contest win 10 years ago in 2015, with Heroes. And he's not been shy in saying that he'd like to land his country an 8th win with Revolution! He's got a second Melodifestivalen victory to achieve first, however. Tune in on Saturday night to see how much closer he gets to realising his dream.
Saga Ludvigsson – Hate You So Much

An Idol star who debuts in Melodifestivalen this year with the country-flavoured Hate You So Much. Her first 'Mello' outing is off to a good start so far - in the 5th semi-final on Saturday 1 March, her song won the public vote and landed her straight into the final
Annika Wickihalder – Life Again

Anyone who watched last year's Melodifestivalen final will remember the vocals of Annika Wickihalder - and won't be surprised to discover that they've taken her all the way to the final for a second consecutive year. She gave Swedish viewers Life Again!
KAJ – Bara Bada Bastu

The three chaps with comedic chops! KAJ's ode to sauna culture along the Swedish/Finnish border has gone down so well with audiences that it's permanently lodged itself at number 1 on Spotify Sweden, ever since its appearance at the 4th semi-final. It's even reached the top of the Spotify charts in neighbouring Finland. United By Music... And by letting it all steam out.
The winner of Melodifestivalen 2024 was the song Unforgettable, performed by Marcus & Martinus.
In Malmö, Unforgettable gave Sweden a 9th-place finish, with 174 points. It is the country's 9th Top 10 result in the past 10 years.
