Sweden 2025: Artists announced for 'Melodifestivalen'
26 November 2024 at 11:32 CETSweden's 6-week Eurovision pre-selection process returns on 1 February. Melodifestivalen will once again be brightening up Saturday evenings across the Nordic nation, via a whopping 570 minutes of Song Contest-themed entertainment.
On Tuesday 26 November, Swedish broadcaster SVT revealed the names of the 30 artists that viewers can look forward to seeing across those 6 weeks. A total of 6 artists will compete in each of the 5 semi-finals, with the big final happening on Saturday 8 March.
For the 2025 edition of the much-loved national final, some changes have been made to the format, which you can read about on eurovision.tv.
Amongst the lineup of 30 artists, there are plenty of performers who will be familiar to Melodifestivalen fans, and also some who will be well known to Eurovision fans too!
Three names who have already represented Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest are set to compete again: Arvingarna from 1993, Måns Zelmerlöw from 2015 and John Lundvik from 2019. And in the songwriters credits we can find two more names that have previously competed for Sweden: Tusse (2021) and double-winner Loreen (2012 and 2023).
