Earlier in October, SVT had announced 28 of the 32 songs participating in the 2009 edition of Melodifestivalen, however, only the composers and authors of the qualified songs were revealed. Now it's time to get to know the artists!
On Tuesday, journalists will have the possibility to meet the first eight artists who will fight for the honour of representing Sweden in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest which will take place in Moscow next year in May. Lots of singers have been rumoured to participate, but until now, the broadcaster hasn't confirmed or denied any names.
Melodifestivalen is the most watched show on Swedish TV every year with viewers exceeding 4 million. The event has also generated a growing interest from abroad with hundreds of Eurovision fans attending the show which will take place on the 14th of March in Stockholm's Globen Arena for its 2009 edition.
