The return of Sunstroke Project for Moldova

Earlier this February, Sunstroke Project won the Moldovan national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, O melodie pentru Europa, with the song Hey, Mamma and will thus represent the country in the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv. The group are no strangers to the contest having participated in 2010, even providing the Eurovision Song Contest with a viral video on YouTube...

Sunstroke Project is a trio composed of Sergei Yalovitsky (vocals), Anton Ragoza (violinist and composer) and Sergey Stepanov (saxophonist). The group was formed in 2008 have participated in the Moldovan national selection several times over the years. In 2010 they represented Moldova in the Eurovision Song Contest alongside Olia Tira. It was after the 2010 contest that saxophonist Sergey Stepanov became a YouTube sensation known all over the world as the Epic Sax Guy. The video of him performing at the contest went viral and has been watched millions of times.

In August 2015 the group started their own music label, Ragoza Music, and released the song Not Giving It Up. More recently Sunstroke Project finished recording their second album and released their first song in Russian – Maria Huana.

What do the group have prepared for us in 2017? "Our performance looks like a small wedding on stage. We changed our style, we've prepare outstanding choreography and graphics and we are going to have fun!"

Sunstroke Project are looking forward to returning to the Eurovision stage: "For us the Eurovision Song Contest is very important as our career began with participation in this contest in Oslo in 2010. Eurovision is not only a unique opportunity to share our music, but also an opportunity to participate in one of the brightest musical events of year."
