Spain: TVE calls for entries for Oslo

27 November 2009 at 20:08 CET

"Do you sing well?, Do you have a good song that could represent TVE in the Eurovision Song Contest?" - that's the way TVE, the Spanish national broadcaster, opens their call for entries for Europe's favourite TV show. After some speculation in  various Spanish media, TVE has released some information about the selection of the Spanish entry for the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest which will take place in Oslo. So far it's only an open call for artists and songs with the motto Tu País Te Necesita - Your Country Needs You.

TVE asks for singers and composers that could "represent Spain at its best" to pay attention to TVE's Eurovision Song Contest website and prepare their introduction videos, as in the following days the submission dates will be announced. The rules, apart from those specified by the EBU, state that the participants must have resided in Spain for at least two years.

Spain placed 16th and 23rd in the Eurovision Song Contest finals of 2008 and 2009 respectively, using an internet-based way of selecting songs for their national final.
