Spain: Pastora Soler will sing "Quédate Conmigo" in Baku

In late December the popular singer Pastora Soler, from Coria del Río (Seville), was chosen internally as the singer that will represent Spain at the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest.

Tonight a show called Eurovisión. Pastora Soler, to determine what song she will perform in Baku, took place at the TVE studios in Madrid hosted by Anne Igartiburu, who also did the presentation the last couple of years. 

After a public and jury vote the song that will be going to Baku is Quédate Conmigo.

Three songs in total were performed by Pastora, which were (winner in bold):

  • Tu Vida Es Tu Vida (Your life Is Your Life) written by Max Miona, Eleonora Giudizi & Juan María Montes (56 points)
  • Quédate Conmigo (Stay With Me) written by Thomas G:son, Tony Sánchez-Ohlsson & Erik Bernholm (72 points)
  • Ahora O Nunca (Now Or Never) written by José Abraham (52 points)

Featured in the show were Spanish entrant at the 1991 Eurovision Song Contest Sergio Dalma, David Bustamante who was one of the backing singers for Rosa in Tallin in 2002, the popular singer Malú and the singer/songwriter Vanessa Martin. All of them duetted with the star of the night, Pastora Soler.

The winning song will be performed at the Final of the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest in Baku on the 26th of May following the footsteps of last year's Spanish entry Que Me Quiten Lo Bailao sung by Lucía Pérez.
