As we mentioned before there were some songs in the final candidate's list that were accused of breaking the rules of the competition. After some research and the consultancy with TVE's legal services, the decision has been to eliminate them from the competition. The artists in question are Popstar Queen, who was leading the voting, Chimo Bayo, who was 3rd in the moment of his expulsion, Kejío and Juan Losada.
There are still several other questioned entries, but so far, there is a new updated ranking list where Coral Segovia is in the lead followed by El Pezón Rojo. Samuel & Patricia, Lorena and Venus complete the Top 5 in that order. Daniel Diges, Ainhoa Cantalapiedra, José Galisteo, Anabel Conde and Noel Soto would complete the line-up of 10 artists for the televised national selection if the voting was closed now, but everything can change from now on to the 5th of February, when the internet voting will officially be closed.
Spain has used the internet selections before in 2008 when Rodolfo Chikilicuatre placed 16th and last year when Soraya ranked 23rd in the Final of the Eurovision Song Contest.
