In the Georgian national final, a 50/50 combination of televoting and the verdict of an expert jury yielded the result that the band Eldrine should represent the Caucasian country with One More Day, a powerful rock song with hip-hop elements, in the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest.

"The producers of Eurovision called me and asked me to meet them, but I didn't know the reason. I just went there and learned that the vocalist of Eldrine had problems with the contract. Then the members of the group introduced me to the producers and made their decision." - Sophio Toroshelidze

Sophio was born on January 8th, 1990 in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi. She was a very talented child and her musical skills were discovered already at a young age. With the children's music groups Basti-Booboo and Mziuri, Sopho had her first stage experiences.

From 1997, she has taken part in several music festivals both as a singer and a composer, winning prizes at festivals both in her home country and abroad. Among those were the Golden Eagle Festival, Georgia’s Got Talent, The Georgian Music and Dance Festival of Junior Talents, The 5th Junior Festival of Georgian Folk Music, The Star Way Festival, The International Junior Music Festival, and The Georgian Theater Festival.

"I'm studing at the State Conservatory and I have high classic education that helps me very much. My style is ballads and alternative music and I'm writing and singing songs in this genre basically." - Sophio Toroshelidze

In 2006 Sophio Toroshelidze's self-written song Surprised Again won the title of the Best Song of the Year. In 2009, she reached the final of the Stars Academy competition and, at the same time, started teaching children, also as a vocal coach of the Georgian representatives in the 2009 Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

In 2010 Sophio appeared as a backing vocalist, supporting Sofia Nizharadze during the performance of Shine in the Eurovision Song Contest. Thus, she already collected valuable experience on the Eurovision stage. Sophio has also been a participant of various television shows on the leading TV channels of Georgia, and she is fluent in Georgian, Russian and English.

"I just wanna say that I'm gonna do my best to represent my country perfectly! And give pleasure to people with our music!" - Sophio Toroshelidze

Right now, the preparations for the participation in the Eurovision Song Contest are taking on speed in Georgia: Pascal Jourdan, a well-known French director, was hired to stage the performance of Eldrine in Düsseldorf.

At the same time, the shooting of the official video clip of One More Day has begun - it will take place at the Rustaveli Theatre in Tbilisi, and actors of the Pantomime Theatre will participate in the process. Sophio's dress for the video will be designed by Teona Elizbarashvili, who already designed the stage clothes of the backing vocalists of the Georgian entry in the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest.

You can listen to a studio version of Eldrine's entry One More Day on the Eurovision website of GPB.
