03 September 2014 at 23:07 CEST

The Finnish broadcaster, YLE, has confirmed that it will choose Finland's entry for Vienna through their national selection UMK, the final of which will take place in March.

The songs can be sent until next Monday 8th of September at 12:00. Instructions and rules, also in English, can be found at YLE's website: "At least one of the writers and the lead singer(s) has to be a Finnish citizen or live in Finland permanently".

The Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu (UMK) or in English, New Music Competition, looks for Finland's best new songs. UMK, first used in 2012 as the Finnish national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, is open to all musicians regardless of musical style to contribute their own unpublished demo songs.

Finland is looking for another success after reaching the Final twice in a row in Malmö with Krista Siegfrids and in Copenhagen with Softengine's Something Better, the winner of UMK 2014, who placed 11th.
