Sofia Nizharadze: 'A new style for Georgia'

23 April 2010 at 21:54 CEST

This year, the singer to represent Georgia in the Eurovision Song Contest was internally selected, and only her song was chosen in a national final out of six proposals by the joint decision of an expert jury and the TV public: They agreed that Sofia Nizharadze should sing Shine in Oslo, a nostalgic ballad written by Hanne Sorvaag, Harry Sommerdahl & Christian Leuzzi.

In our video interview, Sofia admits that Shine was also her personal favourite among the preselection songs, even though she still has not met the composers of the song yet. Sofia promises the fans an "amazing performance in a wholly new style for Georgia". The stage act will be designed by a choreographer and director from France and will feature French dancers as well as backing vocals from Georgia. Soon they are going to meet in Paris to rehearse the act for the first time.

Regarding the dress she is going to wear during her performance in the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest, Sofia remained secretive. She only disclosed that she would be travelling to Milan soon to take care of "a very important thing" - after the Georgian rehearsals in Oslo, the first of which will take place on the 19th of May, we will finally know more on this subject. Stay with us not to miss that, and enjoy our video interview with Sofia Nizharadze in the meantime!
