Slovenia's Eurovision mission kicks off on Sunday

In the series of Misija Evrovizija shows, the artist who is going to represent Slovenia in Europe's Favourite TV Show in Azerbaijan in 2012 will be selected. A total of 32 artists have made it to the initial round of shows.

Maja returns

During these live audition shows, the lucky 32 will perform in front of a panel of judges. The winner will be selected through a combination of televoting and the jury panel. The show will be hosted by Klemen Slakonja, who was Slovenia's spokesperson in 2011, and Maja Keuc who sang for Slovenia in the 2011 contest.
The jury will comprise of:-
  • Darja Svajger - Slovenian representative in 1995 and 1999 Eurovision Song Contest
  • Raay - Composer and producer of the 2011 Slovenian national runner up Ladadidej
  • Tina Marinsek - Singer from the band Tabu who were third in 2011 national selection
  • Jonas Znidarsic - Actor and television presenter in Slovenia
During Sunday's first show, the special guests will be the Danish band A Friend In London, who will perform their 2011 Eurovision Song Contest entry New Tomorrow and their new single Calling A Friend.

Song selection in early 2012

Following the Misija Evrovizija shows, after the selection of the successful artist, in 2012 the national selection show EMA 2012 will take place and it is then that the Slovenian entry itself will be chosen
Co-host of Misija Evrovizija, Maja Keuc represented Slovenia in Europe's Favourite TV Show in 2011 with the song No One, finishing in 13th place, Slovenia's best result since Sestre also finished 13th in 2002 in Tallinn.
