The winners of the Ukrainian national selection 'Vidbir 2020' and Ukraine's choice for 2020 have created a lyric video for their entry 'Solovey', and they did it flash-mob style! The video was prepared for the Eurovision fans to be able to sing the song along with the band from all over the world.

For the first time in the history of Vidbir, the winning song is completely in Ukrainian. Lead singer, Kateryna Pavlenko, was inspired by a folk song when she wrote the winning composition. As such, Go_A felt it was important to help their international fans sing along:

“We decided to make a lyric video so that our international fans could sing in Ukrainian together with us. We are often tagged in stories where people try to sing Solovey, but because of the language, they experience some difficulties. So we decided to simplify life for everyone and start a flash mob to encourage signing along with us even more,” said Kateryna.

The lyric video features the revamped version of the song prepared for Rotterdam by co-writer Taras Shevchenko. “The new version has more drums and percussions, and more dynamics. This adds modern sounding to it. In the final version, we have got a super alliance of modern beats and folk performed by our lead singer Katia. We want to show that the Ukrainian song can sound in a modern fashion,” shared Taras.

Solovey will be featured in Eurovision: Europe Shine A Light on 16 May alongside the songs of the other Eurovision 2020 participants.
