Turkey’s Sertab raises climate change awareness with new song 🇹🇷12 November 2021 at 17:30 CET
The Eurovision Song Contest 2003 winner has collaborated with the United Nations Development Programme in Turkey, calling for everyone to join together to fight climate change.
Timed to coincide with COP26 in Glasgow, Scotland, the songstress has released the new song Who’s Gonna End? to raise awareness globally of the fact that we need to curb carbon emissions before it is too late.
‘Climate change and the global pandemic are pushing the limits of our planet, and it is always those with the fewest resources who are suffering the worst consequences, ’ said Sertab.
'That is why, as an artist, and as a woman, I felt compelled to use music to try to make the world a better place, with justice and equality for all.’
Sertab Erener is one of Turkey’s best-known pop stars and has used her platform for social activism, including: the need for better education opportunities in rural Turkey; improved healthcare for Iraqi children with leukaemia; humanitarian work for victims of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami; and more recently supporting the COVID-19 vaccination campaign in her home country.
