Song submissions are now open for Selecția Națională 2025

Until 27 December, interested parties (full details here, interested parties!) can send their applications in to broadcaster TVM - in the hopes of being selected as Moldova's song for Basel!

Once all applications are in, an internal panel will get to work evaluating the entries, before the 10 top-scoring songs move forward to Moldova's pre-selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025.

Selecția Națională will take place in the second half of February, and TVM has already confirmed that the winner of the 10-song final will be determined by a combination of a public vote and a jury vote, with an equal 50% weighting given to both.

The 2024 edition of Selecția Națională was a closely fought one, with two songs tying for the top score: Natalia Barbu's In The Middle and Valeria Pasha's Anti-Princess

In the end, a tie-break determined that Natalia Barbu would get to represent Moldova in Malmö. It was the second time that the artist had represented her country at the Eurovision Song Contest, after she brought Moldova a Top 10 finish at Helsinki 2007 with her song Fight.

In Malmö, In The Middle finished in 13th place at the First Semi-Final, with a score of 20 points.

The 69th Eurovision Song Contest will be the 20th that Moldova has competed in since the country's debut in 2005.

In the 19 Contests Moldova has participated in so far, its best result came about in 2017, when SunStroke Project's Hey Mamma catapulted their country into third place, with a score of 374 points.
