Second-time lucky for Sakis?

In his rehearsal today, Sakis Rouvas impressed the whole crowd of journalists and fans with a spectacular stage show. The dance stomper features 4 dancers - 2 male and 2 female, the latter ones being also backing singers. Another male backing singer - Alex Panayi, the Cypriot singer in the song contests 1995 and 2000 -  is situated at the back part of the stage. There is a small podium in the centre of the stage on which Sakis starts off his song and on which parts of the extravagant choreography is being performed. The LED projections used during Greece's performances are very colourful and the "Ring Of Hell" in the arena displayed phrases of the lyrics of This Is Our Night. Vocally, Sakis came across as very powerful and his performances earned huge roars of applause from the present journalists and fans.

    

After 20 top-selling CDs & DVDs, 15 awards in leading music awards categories and 2 films to his credit, Sakis Rouvas is one of the ultimate pop stars in Greece. In 2002, Sakis released an album in France, followed by an unforgettable concert in the legendary Olympia! In the Eurovision Song Contest 2004, Sakis reached the third place with his song Shake It. He performed in the closing ceremony of the Athens Olympic Games in 2004. He also recorded a duet with Russian star Philip Kirkorov in Greek and Russian which became a huge hit. Sakis also appeared as a guest in three international concerts given by the leading Greek artist Nana Mouskouri, impressing the audience and critics. In 2005, Sakis won the World Music Award for World's Best-Selling Greek Artist. One year later, Sakis and Maria Menounos were the hosts of the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 which took place in Athens.

During his press conference, Sakis said that he can't compare presenting the Eurovision Song Contest with singing at the contest and that he is even prouder to be the artist for Greece this year. He confessed that he isn't stressed to be in Moscow, he'd just be very excited and at ease. Sakis admitted that there were small problems in the rehearsal today, but that he was sure that they would be fixed. He also revealed that he is planning to tour Europe this summer after the Eurovision Song Contest.
