In order to find a singer and song to represent Slovakia in Moscow, the public broadcaster STV decided to organise a national final. As many high-quality songs have been received, five semi-finals are being organised, with ten songs each. In every semi-final, two finalists are picked by SMS voting, and a third one by an expert jury.
Tonight, the second semi-final was held in the STV studios in Bratislava, with ten acts in the running. This is the list of participants, in order of appearance (qualifiers in bold):
  • Babenky A Týpci - Babenky A Týpci (3rd place in televoting)
  • Mária Čírová - Búrka (2nd place in televoting)
  • Jakub Petraník - Nadomnou (9th place in televoting)
  • Golden Storm - Daj Mi Len Deň (5th place in televoting)
  • Samo Tomeček & Free Inna Cage - To Čo Chceš (4th place in televoting)
  • Editor - Pod Parou (6th place in televoting)
  • Mukatado - Ja Sa Mám (8th place in televoting) - jury choice
  • Marek Kravjar - Geniálny Cvok (10th place in televoting)
  • Anawi - V Predstavách (7th place in televoting)
  • Tomáš Bezdeda - Každý Z Nás (1st place in televoting)
The two acts picked by the TV public were Tomáš Bezdeda and Mária Čírová, while the jury picked Mukatado as an additional finalist. In the interval act, Marcel Palonder - one of the jury members - performed his song Kým Nás Máš. With that song, he had represented Slovakia in the 1996 Eurovision Song Contest, reaching the 18th place. The next semi-final will be broadcast on Monday, February 23rd.
