Second pair of finalists chosen in Norway

Posted 31 January 2009 at 21:00

This week, the Norwegian national selection Melodi Grand Prix went all the way north, past the Arctic Circle, to the town of Bodø, where the second semi-final was held. The show was presented by Maria Haukaas Storeng, who had represented Norway in the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest, and Per Sundnes again. Another seven songs were presented, one of which was sung by Wencke Myhre, a true Eurovision Song Contest veteran: She had already represented Germany in the world's most popular TV show more than 40 years ago, reaching the sixth place with her song Ein Hoch Der Liebe. The following songs were presented tonight (qualifiers in bold):
  • Wencke Myhre - Alt Har En Mening Nå
  • Publiners - Te Stein
  • Tine Wulff - Ride
  • Alexander Stenerud - Find My Girl
  • Janni Santillan - (Like You Did) Yesterday
  • Julius Winger - Like An Angel
  • Tone Damli Aaberge - Butterflies
The two entries that came third and fourth respectively were Publiners and Janni Santillan. They will have another chance to go forward to the final in the so-called Last Chance Round, to be held on February 14th. The final of the Norwegian Melodi Grand Prix will take place on February 21st in Oslo - stay with us for more news on the national selection!
