Saturday: First Norwegian semi-final

Norway's popular national selection, Melodi Grand Prix, kicks off tomorrow night when it returns to Hanger E at the Sør-Trøndelag air force base, Ørland Hovedflystasjon

Seven acts will compete for two final places and two second chance places, whilst the remaining three will be eliminated from the competition. 

At the moment full versions of each act can be heard on NRK's Melodi Grand Prix website.

Just to remind you, the acts tomorrow are as follows:

  • Carina Dahl - Guns & Boys
  • Use Me - Daisy
  • Sichelle - Trenger Mer
  • Sie Gubba - Alt Du Vil Ha
  • Åste & Rikke - Not That Easy
  • Helene Bøksle - Vardlokk
  • Gatas Parlament - Jobbe Litt Mindre Og Tjene Litt Mer

Stay tuned in the coming weeks for coverage of the other two semi-finals in Florø and Skien as well as the second chance round being held in Sarpsborg. The final will take place at Oslo Spektrum on the 12th of February. 


The lucky act to beat all the competition and win the right to represent Norway, will take part at the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest in Düsseldorf, Germany on the 10th, 12th and 14th of May.
