Sandhja is the winner!
It was a thrilling evening in Helsinki as Finland selected its 2016 Eurovision Song Contest entry in what seemed like a very open competition. Nine acts battled for the honour of representing the country, and after the votes of a jury and the TV viewers it was clear that Sandhja will represent Finland with the song Sing It Away.

The national final of Finland for the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest, UMK (Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu), just took place in Helsinki hosted by Roope Salminen and Krista Siegfrids. The nine candidates performed in the following starting position:

  1. Cristal Snow - Love is Blind
  2. Stella Christine - Ain't Got Time for Boys
  3. Annica Milán & Kimmo Blom - Good Enough
  4. Eini - Draamaa
  5. Barbe-Q-Barbies - Let Me Out
  6. Tuuli Okkonen - Don't Wake Me Up
  7. Sandhja - Sing It Away
  8. Saara Aalto - No Fear
  9. Mikael Saari - On It Goes

The results were determined by both televoting (50%) and a total of 10 juries (50%).

Sandhja will represent Finland in the first Semi-Final of the Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm on the 10th of May!

In addition to the amazing performances by the nine finalists there were some mind blowing special guests in the show, such as the mighty Lordi, winner of the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest, as well as the most talked about contestant in Vienna last year: Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät (PKN). They performed a special rendition of their song Aina Mun Pitää!
